Weeks 38 and 39
(LAST UPDATE!)
The first picture is at 38 weeks and the second one is the day Jaxon was born, at 39 weeks. As you probaby noticed, I had an airbrush tan in the second one :-) I just feel SO much cuter when I have a little color.
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I gained about 26 pounds total. Being that I had a 9 pound baby and stayed under my goal of not more than 30 pounds, I'm perfectly ok with that amount!
Maternity Clothes: It stayed 50/50 maternity and regular clothes.
Gender: Boy!!! Jaxon Abbott :-)
Movement: His movement slowed down a bit in the last couple of weeks but he was still pretty active. Now that he's here, I miss being able to feel him move around inside of me.
Sleep: Stayed pretty bad but I got used to it for the most part.
What I Miss: Same ol' stuff
Cravings: Sweets!
Symptoms: All of the old symptoms and then the last week my back started hurting incredibly bad. I could barely walk and looked like an old lady when I did. I was so ready for him to get here at the end!
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: The best moment would definitely have to be when we realized we needed to schedule his arrival and we picked his birthday. It was such a relief to have an end in sight and know when we would (finally) be able to meet our son.
Favorite Husband Quote: Again, I'm just thankful for JD. His support, encouragement and kindness throughout my pregnancy were more than I could've hoped for or dreamed of in a husband. Couldn't have made it through without him!
Weeks 35-37
(I'm 38 weeks now)
The first picture is at Week 35 and the second at Week 36. I think I look bigger in the first but I guess it could've just been the shirt I was wearing. I'm basically past the point of caring how big I am or what I look like now anyway!
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: When I checked a few days ago I was 25 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight. I'm hoping I don't go over 30 pounds and it looks like I might be on track to stay just under. The last time the lovebug's weight was estimated (at Week 36), he was 7 pounds 11 oz. We get another estimate this Thursday and I can't wait to hear what it is this time!
Maternity Clothes: Still 50/50 maternity and regular clothes.
Gender: Boy!!! :-)
Movement: He's still moving and shaking in there and it's still one of my favorite things in life!
Sleep: Same as last update. It sucks but at least hopefully I'll be somewhat used to getting little sleep when the bug arrives.
What I Miss: I still miss eating what I want, when I want, but I am getting more accustomed to the gestational diabetes diet. And I just keep telling myself I should be able to have a treat in a couple of weeks!
Cravings: Nothing worth mentioning.
Symptoms: Mostly just the same old "friends" I've come to know and love so well.
Best Moment(s) These Last Three Weeks: We took a baby care class one weekend and it was so fun to watch JD changing the baby doll and imagining him with our son :-) We also made a last big shopping trip to fill in the items we thought we might need (although what do we really know about what we'll need?), and we've been working on the nursery. JD's dad is building some shelves and there are still some things to hang on the walls and organize so I probably won't do the "nursery reveal" until after the bug arrives and we get settled.
Favorite Husband Quote: He gets more and more excited as the time gets closer. He's not always verbal about what he's thinking or feeling but once in a while he'll make a comment that lets me know it's on his mind a lot more than he lets on :-) I can't imagine taking on this parenting adventure with anyone else and I'm so thankful to have him in my life!

Weeks 33 and 34
(I'm 35 weeks now)
Sorry kiddos, no pictures this week! I decided to squash the shirt up pictures and it takes a little more effort / convincing to get JD to take normal pictures of me. I did get him to take one this week so I'll have that one to post at my next update.
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: It's averaging 21 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight, for a gain of 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. The bug's weight was estimated to be 7 pounds at my 34 week visit, but I'm told those estimates can be off by up to a pound. Being that he still had 5 or 6 weeks to grow at the time of the estimate, it looks like we'll be having ourselves a chunky little baby!
Maternity Clothes: Still 50/50 maternity and regular clothes. Today I'm wearing a non-maternity top with maternity jeans. I actually do still have a pair of non-maternity jeans I can fit into if I don't button the top button :-)
Gender: Boy!!! :-)
Movement: Still feeling lots of it! There have been a few times lately that have felt pretty weird. Sometimes he'll stick something out of my side (I think it's his fist) and just leave it poking out for several seconds. So strange but cool!
Sleep: Eh, whatever. It sucks but I'm pretty much over it. I've come to the conclusion that my new normal will just include me being tired all the time. It's worth it.
What I Miss: The bliss that eating used to be. Everything is so structured and restricted now that I just eat for nourishment and where's the fun in that?? :-) I can't wait until the bug's here and I can have something that's just plain ol' bad for me! JD apparently forgot that he said he'd do the diet with me and he's constantly bringing sweets into the house. I don't say anything because why should we both have to suffer, but it does make it that much harder to resist temptation. He's developed a habit of bringing Wendy's Frostys home, which is something that I probably started when I had a ridiculous craving for one in my second semester. It's basically torture when I know he's eating one so I told him he can plan on bringing me one in the hospital!
Cravings: We could be here all day if I started listing them so I'll spare you.
Symptoms: I've had a few new aches and pains lately but nothing unbearable. And pretty much all of the ones I've had previously are continuing but I know I could be feeling much worse so I'm not complaining!
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: One weekend, we went to a childbirth class at our hospital and the next we took a tour of the labor/delivery area. Although we didn't learn anything too exciting, it did feel good to know we're doing what we can to prepare. We also pre-registered at the hospital, which made it start feeling really real! We'll probably be there for the birth in about 30 days! Cah-raaazy!
Favorite Husband Quote: At my last visit, the ultrasound tech was measuring and assessing different things on the bug. My typically wild child was being abnormally calm and still, and she wanted him to move. She had this little contraption she touched my belly with that vibrated slightly and made a little buzzing sound. My poor little lovebug jumped like he'd been electrocuted (he wasn't, don't worry!), threw his hand in front of his face like he was blocking something and then started sucking on his fingers! It was pretty much the cutest darn thing I've ever seen in my life but I felt so bad for letting her startle him like that! When I told JD the story, he said, "Oh it's fine, it'll help make him tough." I didn't know whether to laugh or punch him! (I laughed.) He is such a "man's man" and I think it's pretty funny that he's already starting to "train" the bug to be tough like him!

Weeks 29-32
(I'm 33 weeks now)
(32 weeks- Please excuse the exhausted no makeup look. This was after a day of errand running and I was ready for bed time!)
(32 weeks- Pretty sure this will be my last shirt up picture! I actually can't believe I've kept doing these for so long.)
(30 weeks)
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: It's been fluctuating a bit lately but the average is 19 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight, for a gain of 1 or 2 pounds since last update (4 weeks ago). Although I'm not gaining a bunch of weight, the lovebug is! His weight estimate at my last visit was 5 lbs, 4 ozs, and according to Baby Center he should be weighing about 4 lbs right now. His bigger size is most likely due to the gestational diabetes and is something my doctor wants to keep an eye on.
Maternity Clothes: Still 50/50 maternity and regular clothes.
Gender: Boy!!! :-)
Movement: Although he's getting bigger and has less room, he's still finding ways to get around in there and I'm still loving it!
Sleep: No bueno. I wake up at 5:00 for work every day and I hate going to bed too early so my sleep is already limited, then add in the whole pregnancy thing and I've been preeeetty tired lately. I was lying in bed yesterday thinking how nice it was that I didn't have to get out of bed for anything in particular and then it really hit me that my days of being able to do that are literally numbered and shrinking fast! (But I wouldn't trade the bug for all the sleep in the world.)
What I Miss: Being able to eat what I want, when I want. This gestational diabetes diet sucks (to put it nicely). And I just found out I failed my "check-up" 3 hour fasting glucose test so now I have to start pricking my finger 4 times a day to check my glucose. Not cool.
Cravings: Basically if something is yummy I'm not supposed to eat it, so of course I want it all the time.
Symptoms: A few times, I've had what I'm assuming is round ligament pain. It's completely normal, just part of stretching and growing and getting ready for delivery but it can be painful! I had to stop and sit down and just breathe one time when it hit. So this is a "fun" new symptom to add to the ones that are continuing :-) But overall, I've had such an easy time with this pregnancy and I have no reason to complain! I've been super blessed and truly do love being pregnant.
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Four Weeks: There have been lots! I had a shower at work and JD had a surprise shower thrown for him (I'll blog about them both soon). I have weekly doctor visits now (thanks to the GD) and got an ultrasound last time so I was able to get a peek at the little boy. I can't wait to see what he looks like in person! Oh and we found out he's head down now (he's been breech until recently) so that was good to hear!
Favorite Husband Quote: Nothing in particular that I can remember at the moment but in general, he continues to be so sweet and supportive. I can't wait to see him as a daddy. He's gonna be so good at it!
_________________________________________________________________________
Weeks 27 and 28
(I'm 29 weeks now)
So what do we think... is it time to stop with the shirt-up pictures yet? :-)
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I fluctuate between 17 and 18 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight, so that's 2 or 3 pounds gained since last update. I think that's pretty normal.
Maternity Clothes: I think it's still 50/50 maternity and regular clothes.
Gender: Boy!!! :-)
Movement: Lots! A couple of days ago I was rubbing my belly and I said, "Where's my little boy?" and I got a swift jab in response! I know he didn't actually know what I was saying but it still made me smile :-)
Sleep: Sucks lately. I literally wake up at least every two hours. Either to "empty my bladder" or to change positions, which turns into more and more of a production the bigger I get. Thankfully, I don't seem to be waking up JD with all of my moving around so that's good.
What I Miss: The usual... diet coke, wine, raw sushi, etc.
Cravings: Well now that I know I need to avoid refined sugar (thanks to the gestational diabetes), I pretty much want it all. the. time. Boooo.
Symptoms: I'm starting to have some back aches here and there but it's nothing unbearable. My decreasing ability to sleep has me feeling tired. I still have memory and focusing issues and feel like I spend the majority of my day in a bathroom. But other than those things, I feel fine! ;-)
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: Definitely hearing the bug's heartbeat at my doctor visit. I can't believe I'm to the point where I have visits every two weeks! I actually go back tomorrow. Getting some baby-related things accomplished this past weekend was also nice.
Favorite Husband Quote: Again, not an actual quote, but when he found out I have gestational diabetes and need to change my diet, he said he would change his also. I told him he didn't have to but he said it's only fair that he do it with me if I have to. So sweet! I love him.

Weeks 25 and 26
(I'm 27 weeks now)
I think we're swiftly approaching the time when the shirt-up pictures need to stop. Yesterday (when I took the pictures) was the first day I've actually felt huge. It probably sounds wierd but I still don't really feel pregnant a lot of the time. I don't know if it was the outfit I had on yesterday or what, but I caught my reflecion a few times and was like, "WHOAH! That girl's belly is big!" and then I realized it was me! I can't believe I still have 13 weeks left to grow. How is he going to fit?? Hold me. I'm scared.
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm 15 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight, so I'm up 2 pounds since last update.
Maternity Clothes: I'd say it's about a 50/50 mix of normal and maternity. My generous friend did have a few tops I can use so that's a few less pieces I need to buy.
Gender: Boy!!! :-)
Movement: Still lots of movement and it's still basically my favorite thing ever. That boy makes me smile!
Sleep: Decent. I haven't had any more sweating episodes so that's a relief.
What I Miss: The feeling of not having to pee. Seriously, I take a potty break, come back to my office and sit down, and I feel like I have to go again. I guess he's getting bigger and smooshing my bladder more now. And to think, it'll only get worse from here... yay :-)
Cravings: Nothing much.
Symptoms: Have I mentioned my forgetfulness and lack of focus? I can't remember (ha ha). It's gotten increasingly worse the last few weeks. I now have to make a conscious effort to make myself get anything done at work. And sometimes at home, I'll be in one room and think, "Oh I need to do such and such," then I'll walk into another room to do it and by the time I get in the next room I can't remember what I went in there for! Does this improve once the baby comes or will I now be a dingbat for the rest of my life?
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: Starting our registry yesterday! It was so much fun but overwhelming too. JD got a little carried away with the "gun," (his favorite part of the whole thing) so I had to go online and delete a few things. In case you think I'm heartless, I did leave some stuff on there for him that I wouldn't necessarily have wanted ;-)
Favorite Husband Quote: I don't have an exact quote but he was just so wonderful yesterday. He was very patient with me when I took forever to decide (on almost every single product we scanned) and he was just such a good sport about the whole thing. I know a lot of guys would be dragging their feet and complaining the whole time so I really appreciate him for being so laid back about it.

Weeks 23 and 24
(I'm 25 weeks now)
I don't notice all that much difference in my size from the last picture, do y'all?
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: According to the scale at home, I'm 13 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight, which means I've gained 3 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I'm shooting for 1 pound per week but I feel comfortable with the amount (and type) of food I'm eating so I'm trying not to focus on the scale too much. It was a little hard to see the number go above 130. I weigh about as much now as I did during my "chubby" phase in high school so the numbers are a little hard to swallow. BUT I'm sure in a couple of months, I'll be wishing the scale looked like it does now!
Maternity Clothes: Same as last update (still mostly normal clothes). I did buy a few pairs of maternity pants and will be in them soon. Later this week, I'm also meeting up with a friend who has generously offered to let me to borrow her maternity clothes. I'm going to wait to see what she has before I buy anything else.
Gender: Boy!!! :-)
Movement: Lots! He's such a wiggly worm and I love it. Still waiting for daddy to feel some good kicks, though.
Sleep: It's been fine. Not wonderful but not bad either. Although last night I woke up in the middle of the night dripping sweat. That's the first time that happened and I didn't like it one bit. Hopefully that won't be a new trend.
What I Miss: Believe it or not, I haven't been thinking too much about Diet Coke lately! Never thought I'd say that! I have been missing my occasional glass of wine. Last night, JD not only drank some in front of me, he also drank it out of MY glass! How rude.
Cravings: Nothing much.
Symptoms: Still feeling good! I have noticed (along with a co-worker who was nice enough to point it out in case I hadn't noticed) that I've started to waddle a bit. I'm sure it'll only get worse from here on out. Yay!
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: I would have to say finding out that a close friend of mine is pregnant too, meaning the bug will have a little friend who's only 4 months younger than he is. I'm already planning the play dates in my head!
Favorite Husband Quote: He's started texting me things to tell the bug. My favorite is when he gets me to tell the bug how amazing his mommy is ;-)
_______________________________________________
Weeks 21 and 22
(I'm 23 weeks now)
JD took a normal picture of me but I've been too lazy to transfer it to my computer and it didn't come out that great anyway, so we'll just stick with this one for now!
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: My doctor kind of skirts the issue of how much I'm gaining, I think because he doesn't want to put an emphasis on it unless I'm gaining too much/not enough. He said I am at a good weight right now. On my scale at home, I've gained a total of 10 pounds, which would be a gain of 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks.
Maternity Clothes: Same as last update. Not wearing many maternity items yet but I think it's getting closer to the time when I'll need to go shopping for some!
Gender: Boy!!! :-)
Movement: I feel him off and on all the time now. Sometimes the movements are strong enough for me to see my belly move, which is so cool! He was having himself a nice little dance party in my belly the other day and I called JD in from another room to feel him but every time he'd get over there and get his hands on me, the bug would go completely still! Such a little tease! But I absolutely love feeling him move. It's the most magical feeling ever.
Sleep: Pretty good lately, except that the latest I can sleep on weekends now is about 8:00 or 8:30. For someone who used to be able to sleep in until 11:00 or 12:00, this is a bit disappointing.
What I Miss: Always Diet Coke! I just had lunch with a friend and she had a glass of it that looked so good, I almost ripped it out of her hands and sucked the whole thing down. Thankfully, I was able to restrain myself.
Cravings: Well since seeing my friend's DC, I can't get the thought of having one out of my head. I don't typically crave anything in particular, though.
Symptoms: I'm still feeling great! I have noticed that my skin itches more the bigger I get. One of my favorite times of the day is when I can take my clothes off before a shower and SCRATCH. Such sweet relief. I do try to keep oil or lotion on my belly, which helps a little bit.
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: We ordered the glider for the nursery, which was our first "big" nursery purchase, so that was fun. I still have memories of my mom rocking me when I was little and I can't wait to be able to do that with our son. And this glider is heaven. It's so big and plush, you just sink right down when you sit in it. It feels like a warm cozy hug. I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time in that chair!
Favorite Husband Quote: It's not a quote but he's recently started randomly walking up to me and kissing my belly. Needless to say, I love it.
______________________________________________
Weeks 19 and 20
(I'm 21 weeks now)
I'm definitely continuing to grow at a steady pace these days! My weight hasn't changed much the last couple of weeks but my size has. Fun fact about my jeans in the second picture: they're my skinny jeans from before I was pregnant and I was still able to button them (under my belly of course)! This tells me that my butt and hip areas haven't changed too much, which I'm happy to have as long as it'll last :-)
How Far Along: See top of post. I'm over halfway there! So crazy.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm 8 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight, for a gain of one pound in the last two weeks.
Maternity Clothes: Same as last update. I'm wearing a few maternity undershirts and I've worn my maternity jeans once. Everything else is regular clothes, sometimes with my belly band holding up unbottoned jeans.
Gender: Boy!!! :-) It's sooooo nice to finally know.
Movement: I'm feeling definite movements now! A lot of people say their babies moved more at night when they were lying still but our wiggle worm seems to move off and on all day. JD felt him once from the outside but it was just a little nudge so I think he's waiting for bigger movements to get really excited.
Sleep: Pretty good lately. Some nights, I'm even sleeping through with no potty breaks! This is huge!
What I Miss: Always Diet Coke! And it was so hard not to have a glass of champagne on New Year's Eve. Bummer.
Cravings: I've been drinking more orange juice than normal lately but other than that, no noticeable cravings. But thinking about food right now is making my stomach growl!
Symptoms: No noteworthy symptoms. Which makes it even more dificult for me to endure my "almost bed rest" restrictions. Thank God JD has been so wonderful about picking up my slack around the house.
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: Definitely seeing the bug on the ultrasound, hearing his heartbeat and finding out he's a boy! Also, JD is almost finished painting the nursery and we're close to a decision on the baby furniture so things are starting to feel even more real now. Love it!
Favorite Husband Quote: Recently he's started saying, "Hey, bug" and I'll say, "Hey, daddy" and he gets so tickled- which usually involves a delighted chuckle, a fist pump, or both :-) Have I mentioned lately how cute he is?
____________________________________________
Weeks 17 and 18
(I'm 19 weeks now)
Quite a change from last time, don't you think? :-) And I finally got JD to take a picture of me! But I still included the shirt up for those of you who like them. I can't guarantee that I'll want to keep doing them in my later months, though!
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: According to my scale at home, I'm 7 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight, which would mean a gain of 3 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I went from worrying that I wasn't gaining enough weight to now worrying that I'm gaining too much!
Maternity Clothes: I have a few maternity undershirts (like the black one in the picture) but those are the only maternity things I'm wearing so far. I ordered some jeans so I'm hoping those work out, but I've realized I have a couple of pairs I can button under my belly and wear with a long shirt so that's been working out well.
Gender: We hopefully find out in two days!!!
Movement: Same as last time. I'm pretty sure I feel something once in a while but it's difficult to know what exactly I'm looking for.
Sleep: Same as last update: pretty normal, except the frequent wake-ups to pee.
What I Miss: Always Diet Coke! And now I'm missing coffee. I drink decaf once in a while but it's just not the same.
Cravings: The only noticeable one I've had recently was PF Chang's. We passed one in a mall this weekend and once I had it in my head that I wanted it for lunch, there was no stopping me. It was soooo good. And it's one of JD's favorite places, so he wasn't complaining!
Symptoms: Nothing noteworthy. I'm feeling pretty good!
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: Probably getting my first "You look so cute!" compliment from a complete stranger. Made me feel a little bettter about my sudden increase in size!
Favorite Husband Quote: As we were driving back from Dallas yesterday and I was looking through a magazine, minding my own business, JD looked over at my belly and said, "Oh my god, it's like a watermelon!" I told him I would show him what a watermelon really looked like, and then I was going to hit him in the head with it. Kidding! I think it's pretty funny when he randomly notices how much I'm growing all of a sudden :-)
____________________________________________________
____________________________________________________
Weeks 15 and 16
(I'm 17 weeks now)
I still need to get JD to start taking my pictures. I'll probably be halfway through with the pregnancy before I actually get around to it! I included two this time (they're both from the same day) because I think I look bigger from the second side and that's closer to how I feel! One of you said you like the "shirt up" pictures so maybe I'll continue with them for a little while longer.
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: According to my calculations, I'm 3 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight, according to my doctor it's 5, so I'll split the difference and go with 4!
Maternity Clothes: None yet. I do need the belly band with certain jeans so I can unbutton them but I'm still able to button others. It really helps that I wear roomy scrubs to work. A couple of days ago, my BFF (who I work with) screamed, "Oh my god, I can see your belly! That's so weird!" So obviously the scrubs aren't completely hiding it, but I'm just thankful they can still fit it
Gender: I got my wish and was able to schedule our next ultrasound before Christmas! It's set for December 22nd so hopefully we'll be able to tell at that appointment (just need the baby to cooperate!). Everyone I've talked to except one friend thinks it's a boy, and JD says it'll be a girl just because everyone's guessing boy. For those who like to guess based on the heartbeat, it was 130 the first time we heard it, 156 the second time and 152 this last time (the last two are, according to some people, in girl range). Of course we'll be thrilled either way, I'm just soooo ready to know!
Movement: I think I've been feeling little flutters this last week! It's hard to tell if it's really the baby or if it's just food settling or other normal GI movements but I'm pretty sure it's the bug. Hopefully I'll feel more definite movements soon.
Sleep: Same as last update: pretty normal, except the frequent wake-ups to pee. And I still have trouble falling back asleep in the morning on days I'm trying to sleep in. You'd think my body would want to sleep as much as possible right now and store up some energy but that's apparently not the case!
What I Miss: Still Diet Coke. And some nights I would love to be able to have a glass of wine with dinner but I get over it quickly when I think about the reason I can't have one :-)
Cravings: Still nothing in particular.
Symptoms: Still waiting for that second trimester energy boost! A couple of days I've had some fairly intense pulling and stretching in my lower belly and my doctor said that's just normal growing pangs.
Best Moment(s) These Last Two Weeks: Hearing the heartbeat this past Thursday, feeling the flutters and setting the gender reveal ultrasound appointment. Oh and I bought some more books for the baby and I had JD read one out loud to us. So cute :-)
Favorite Husband Quote: One day in the middle of a random conversation, he asked, "What's schlooping?" After a few minutes, I figured out he was talking about swaddling! His mom had told him earlier that day that one of his cousins has swaddled all of her babies and they've all been relatively calm children and easy to get on a schedule, so he wanted to make sure we "schlooped" our baby. Poor kid, he's trying to learn ;-) I mentioned that there's a book/DVD that talks about the "5 S's" of calming a baby and that swaddling is one of them and he said, "Oh yeah, I read something about that online. One of them is swinging." I was so surprised he knew that and I think it's great that he's quietly doing some research on his own to get prepared. Have I mentioned that he's going to be a great dad?
______________________________________________________
Weeks 13 and 14
(I'm 15 weeks now)
I'm definitely noticing a thickening in my middle area. I cannot wait to be far enough along to where it's obvious that I'm pregnant and not just "soft around the middle"! :-) Hopefully next update, I'll be able to get JD to take a picture of me so the quality will be better. And this will probably be the last time I lift my shirt ;-)
How Far Along: See top of post.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: When I checked a couple of days ago, I was +1 pound. I've finally passed my pre-pregnancy weight!
Maternity Clothes: I wore the Target version of the Bella Band (the BeBand) for the first time yesterday with my regular jeans unbottoned. I could've buttoned them but they make my stomach bulge over the top and that's just not cute. I was scared my jeans would fall down if I moved the wrong way but the band held them up great!
Gender: Right now my doctor's saying we'll be able to find out the week after Christmas but I have an appointment December 2nd and he said depending on how things look then, we might be able to find out sooner. Keep your fingers crossed we can find out before Christmas!
Movement: None yet but I'm hoping that by the next time I post an update, I'll have felt something!
Sleep: Pretty normal, except the frequent wake-ups to pee.
What I Miss: Still Diet Coke!
Cravings: Haven't noticed any in particular lately.
Symptoms: I haven't been quite as tired as I was the first trimester but I still feel like I'm not back to normal. I can't wait until I get the energy boost that's supposed to happen in the second trimester! I've had some acne issues the last few days, which I don't usually have. Not sure if it's pregnancy related but I'm hoping it's just a flare-up so it doesn't keep happening!
Best Moment These Last Two Weeks: JD and I went to a baby fair one Saturday and then stopped by Babies-R-Us just to have a look around. We had more fun with all of that than we thought we would! At the fair, we attended a couple of classes and got some goodies from vendors. I think it was the first day we both started to feel like actual parents.
Favorite Husband Quote: He texted me one morning saying, "Tell the bug Daddy loves him!" How cute is that?? He's getting more and more excited the further along we get. He's going to be an amazing Dad!
_____________________________________________________
First 12 Weeks
I'm actually at 13 1/2 weeks but I'll answer the questions about the first three months
Disclaimer: It's not the best quality but you get the idea. I've always had a bit of a pooch but I feel like it's definitely popped out more than normal! Oh and don't worry, I I won't always lift my shirt but at this point it's kind of hard to notice the bump with it down.
How Far Along: 12 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: -1 pound. I lost about 4 pounds at the beginning of the pregnancy (most likely due to a change in my eating habits) but have gained 3 back.
Maternity Clothes: Not yet
Gender: Don't know but can't wait to find out!
Movement: None that I can feel but we saw some major movement on the ultrasound!
Sleep: At night, I fall asleep at the drop of a hat (sometimes in the middle of conversations, according to JD!) but I wake up often to go to the bathroom. And I find now that when I wake up in the morning, it's not as easy to fall back asleep (like if I'm trying to sleep in on the weekends), which is NOT cool.
What I Miss: Diet Coke. I know I can have a little caffeine but I've decided to cut it all out for now. It hasn't been easy, let me tell you.
Cravings: Lots of cheese! Mac & cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc.
Symptoms: EXHAUSTION. I did not know the meaning of being tired before my pregnancy. It can be literally painful. My boobies are sometimes really sore and I pee A LOT. But I haven't had any nausea or sickness, which I am eternally grateful for!
Best Moment This Week: The best moments so far have been seeing our little bug on the ultrasound, just jumping and moving around, and also hearing the heartbeat. I cried and cried during the last u/s! It's just such a relief to see.
Favorite Husband Quote: I love when he tells me I'm going to be a cute mama :-)
