Newborn Pictures

I'm so excited to share Jaxon's newborn pictures! Our wonderful wedding photographer Amanda Meyer (who also has a blog) was able to take them even though she's slowed down with her photography since the arrival of her twins. It was so hard to narrow the pictures down to these out of the 235 she gave us. Now I need to narrow them down to just 2 or 3 for his birth announcement... wish me luck with that!

The crocheted set in the first pictures was made by Megan's grandma! I saw her sweet Eli's newborn pictures and swooned over the set and was sad when I realized her grandma had made it because that meant I couldn't purchase one. But when Magan realized how much I wanted it, she asked her grandma to make a set for me. I'm constantly amazed at the wonderful people I've "met" through blogging and am so thankful for the connections made!

His different expressions in the first two pictures make me giggle :-) The third is a sneak peek of his bedding.

For those who don't know, JD played baseball at the University of Alabama and I was a Bat Girl at LSU. Now JD's a high school baseball coach and we're definitely a baseball family, so we had to have a little bit of our favorite sport incorporated into the pictures.

I've seen other people take pictures like these next two, and since we forgot to take pictures of our rings at our wedding, I knew I wanted to include them in these pictures.

Amanda brought some blankets and a basket, and she was able to get some really cute shots with her stuff.

I've always adored newborn pictures with the daddy's hands and let me just say, it's a whole new level of love when it's your husband's hands in the picture!

Amanda noticed one of the bracelets I was wearing and wanted to get some shots of it, and even though I'm not a fan of my hands I'm glad to have these pictures. I had the bracelet engraved with the first part of a scripture that meant a lot to me after I was diagnosed with PCOS and found out that I might not be able to have children (I Samuel 1:27). The bracelet says, "Jaxon Abbott - For this child I prayed," and is a reminder to me of just how much of a blessing our precious baby is. As if his sweet smile isn't reminder enough :-)

Since Jax was so well behaved for the photo session that he slept through the whole thing, this was the only picture we got of him with his eyes (halfway) open. This is another one that makes me giggle. I just love love love those little rolls! He reminds me of a shar pei puppy here :-)

So that wraps it up! Now I wish we could justify the expense of having professional pictures taken every few months!

Girl these pictures turned out amazing and he couldn't be cuter!

I love the picture with your hubby's hands holding J. and the crochet shots are my favorite - someday I want to photograph my baby like that.

I'm so glad that you are enjoying your mommyhood! ;)
