My Latest And Greatest

Ok before I get into my latest obsessions, I think I might need to clear a little something up. My friend Erin left a comment last night letting me know that when I mentioned my "GD diet" in my last post, it might not have been obvious to some that I was referring to my gestational diabetes diet and not my G-d d---n diet lol! I couldn't stop giggling when I read that because if you know me (and Erin does), you know I'm not typically one to cuss and I definitely try to keep things clean here on my little blog (hi, Grandma!). I just got the biggest kick out of realizing that some of you might have though that I was so upset over the diet that I uncharacteristically felt the need to express my feeligs with a curse word (or even the letters signifying one)! Anyhoo, now you know what I meant by "GD" and in the future I'll go ahead and spell it out to avoid any confusion :-)

Now on to my obsessions!

The first is a shampoo/conditioner duo, the Organix Moroccon Argan Oil set. I would be lying if I said the color of the bottles weren't the first thing that grabbed my attention with these products. But when I realized that they contain moroccon argan oil, I knew I had to try them. I've been wanting to try MorocconOil for my hair for a while now, I just haven't quite been willing to cough up $40 for a bottle. So I decided to try these first and see if I noticed a difference in my hair.

And the verdict is: I did! They make my hair feel so soft and smooth, it's easy to comb through my wet hair without feeling like I'm ripping out half of my head, and they smell amazing! This is the first time I've actually noticed the smell of my hair throughout the day. It's such a pleasant surprise when I get a random whiff of it. And bonus points, it's free of sulfates and parabens.

Bottom line, you need to try them! And try to grab them at the steal I got. I found them at Ulta when the Organix products were Buy One, Get One 50% Off and I used a $3.50 off a $10 Purchase coupon. So normally the two would be $16 and I got them for $8.50. Can't beat that!

Next obsession: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color in Blue Away. I couldn't find any good "official" pictures of it so you'll just have to make do with the one that I snapped. This color just shouts "Spring" to me, which I love. With this polish, you're supposed to be able to only use one coat but I used two and didn't time how long it took to dry but it did seem quicker than normal. I really just got it for the color, though, and that did not disappoint. If you want to try this one, don't be confused by the Blue Me Away, which is a little darker and more turquoisey than this one. This one is a limited edition in their Spring line and I've seen it at Target and Walgreens.

I love the fact that two of my latest obsessions are color coordinated and I smile every single time I notice my toes.

Third obsession: Burt's Bees Naturally Ageless Line Diminishing Day Lotion.

I've been on the hunt for a good moisturizer for quite some time now and I think I've finally found one that I'll stick with for a while. It goes on light and easy, smells great and makes my skin so soft! And of course I got a deal on it. It retails for $24.99 at Target and Ulta but I got it here on Amazon for about $16.

And my last obsession for today: vintage scarves! I don't know what it is about these things that just draws me to them. I live in Louisiana so I obviously don't need them for practical purposes and I really don't incorporate them into my everyday wear (though I'd love to be one of those chic ladies who always wears a scarf tied around her bag handle), but something about just knowing that I have them makes me happy! Here are a few of my latest finds (so late, in fact, that I haven't had time to get an iron to them yet so please excuse the wrinkles!). I've found the ones I have at estate sales and I think the most I've paid for one is $4. A very small price to pay for the warm fuzzies they give me!

Now I'd love to hear about your latest obsessions. Please share! What are some little things that are making you happy these days?

Need to try the moroccan oil soon...and I love your nailpolish. It definitely shouts "spring" or even "summer". Love it! :)

Sadly, no latest obsession from me...except for that I have a wishlist...not necessarily an obsession but it's close. ;)

Have a great day Amber.

xoxo

Haha! The "GD" mixup made me laugh. I knew what you meant in the previous post - the "other" meaning of it didn't occur to me either!

Those scarves are so pretty!

Funny because I love scarves, too - and we don't use them all that much down here!
