Thank y'all so much for the support and sympathy on my last post! It's so nice to be able to vent once in a while and get showered with a bunch of virtual hugs. Y'all are awesome.
Thankfully, this past weekend was filled with some exciting happenings that helped to get me out of my funk! JD was out of town for a baseball tournament so I was left to entertain myself, which I usually have no problem doing.
Friday, I decided on the diaper bag that I want to carry. Unlike most other baby-related items, I hadn't heard much input from other mothers on a good diaper bag choice, or even what I should look for in a bag. I had heard of Petunia Pickle Bottom, but I'd only heard that the brand was expensive so I didn't do any further research. While browsing my daily email from Beyond the Rack (a sample sale site similar to Rue la la and Gilt), I saw that PPB was having a sale so I decided to investigate.
I fell in love with the color and print on one of the diaper bags, but even on sale it was $100 (it retails for ~$170). I sent a tweet asking for input about the brand and didn't get a response so I texted a mommy friend of mine who has great taste and knows a ton about baby stuff. Turns out, this is the only kind of diaper bag she's ever used and she loves them!
That was just the nudge I needed. I decided that the options provided by the bag (it can be carried as a backpack or shoulder bag and it has a built-in changing pad and removable dirty diaper pouch, among other goodies) justified the price and I went for it! I can't wait for it to arrive!
I'd previously bought JD a diaper bag for when he and the bug go off on their own. I figured whatever bag I decided on would be too girly for him to be comfortable carrying, and I was right! His bag is from Diaper Dude. It retails for $98 but I got it from Gilt for $50. I love that I got both of our bags for less than the retail price of the PPB bag! Here's a picture of his.

I spent Saturday with my parents. They both met me at Babies R Us to pick up the glider for the nursery, which had arrived the day before. We then went to a "trash and treasure" sale that was held in an old department store nearby. We had pictured a nice, supersized estate sale but let's just say that the "treasure" part should have been left out of the title. It was beyond disappointing.
My dad headed home after that and mom and I had lunch at my favorite Mexican place then went shopping for fabrics for the nursery. So much fun! We found material for two pillows and a blanket. The only disappointment came when we found the perfect curtain fabric and the store didn't have the amount that we needed. I plan to stalk that store for the next few weeks on the off chance that they'll get more in a future shipment. I already checked online with no luck. Cross your fingers for me!
JD came home Sunday (finally... I missed him so much) and my parents drove out to our house (about an hour drive for them) and dropped off the glider (which I'm breaking in as I type!). I feel like things are slowly starting to come together with the nursery and it's a relief because the babe will be here before we know it!
Side note: After reading back over this post, I'm amused by the difference a baby can make in what one considers "exciting"! I'm sure many of you couldn't care less about diaper bags, gliders and nursery fabric but I appreciate you sticking around through my giddy pregnant ramblings :-)
Another side note: I plan to post a pregnancy update tomorrow so stop by to check on that if you're interested!

It's so funny how popular this bag is!!! All my mommy friends carry it, so it's definitely a great purchase!
I saw that bag too and LOVED it but they were out of the color I really wanted. Yours is so pretty!
And yes, funny how our lives have changed...we've gone from bar hopping and all night excursions to gliders, diaper bags, and adorable fabrics. LOL! But I love it!
That bag is adorable! I have been wondering which one to get too because Jason is a man and told me this weekend he doesn't want to carry a girly bag. I have only heard of PPB as being really really expensive...but man, that's a deal!
