I guess after three years of marriage I shouldn't be considered a newlywed anymore, but I like to think JD and I will be "forever newlyweds" (as cheesy as that may be). I am so blessed to be able to share life with such an amazing man and we are loving every minute of being parents to our first lovebug, Jaxon, who was born May 10th!
We live a good distance from our family and friends, and I started this blog as a way to keep them updated on our life but it has turned into so much more than that. I absolutely adore the friends and sense of community I've gained through the wonderful world of blogging. If you're new around here, feel free to say hi!
Jeff and I decided we wanted a weekend away so we went to Alabama for a couple days. Friday night we stayed in Mobile and went to Bellingrath Gardens to see the Christmas lights, then Saturday and Sunday we stayed in Gulf Shores and Christmas shopped. It was such a nice break and we found a lot of gifts while we were there. Jeff said we should make it our yearly tradition and I totally agree!
When we woke up on December 11, we could not believe our eyes. It was snowing! I ran outside and started screaming like a little girl. It was about 5:30 am and I'm quite sure I woke up a few neighbors. I saw a weather report the day before that said we would get a "slushy accumulation" of snow but what we got was absolutely breathtaking. Of course it made our electricity go out for two whole days but it was totally worth it.
